The Olympic Park in southwest Calgary has skiing and snowboarding paths for all skill levels. You can even go bobsledding with a full rental while you’re out here. The skiing hill is divided into three separate sections with one space for downhill racing and another for casual skiers. There’s also a terrain park around here.

If skiing and snowboarding isn’t your idea of winter fun then maybe you would like to go for a beautiful winter walk. When walking with your family, you can make up a game for you and your family to play like how many different birds you can find.
There are many great walking paths for you to enjoy while traveling around Calgary. You can go to Nose Creek near the Bow River easy of the zoo or the Irrigation Canal near the Max Bell Arena and then towards Chestermere. If you just want a short path then the 3 km Carburn Park look near Glenmore Trail on the eastern end of the Bow River will be great to visit.
Calgary Zoo’s Zoo Lights
You could also take your family to the holiday lights at the Calgary Zoo. The display during the zoo’s Zoo Lights series every December is just gorgeous as you and your kids will love to see all the amazing lights. Going to see the lighting display is a very time consuming activity that you and the family can do together because there are more than a million lights to check out all around the zoo. These include some lights that are strung out to spell all sorts of special messages in a number of languages.
